Honda has unveiled the Crossrunner hybrid bike which combines a roadster with an adventure sports bike.
Unveiled at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan the new Crossrunner features a 782cc V4 engine – originally from the VFR800 VTEC. The engine makes 100bhp and is tuned for mid-range sports touring.
The riding position is upright and suited to variable road conditions as is the suspension, like an adventure sports bike.
However, it comes packed with modern creature comforts, including ABS brakes, variable valve timing, heated grips, centre stand and a 12-volt power point for charging mobile phones on the move.
The Crossrunner is available in black and silver, pearl white and red and silver.
Honda said the bike’s development was as a result of customer feedback with demands for a roomy, upright bike and with the responsiveness of a sportier chassis.
No price has yet been announced and Honda said the Crossrunner will be in dealers in Spring 2011.
Honda also unveiled its new CBR250R and CBR125R sports bikes as well as new colour schemes for its CB600F Hornet, CB1000R and SH125.
