A group of thieves systematically stole an estimated £3 million of car parts from a BMW plant in Munich, Germany, the Daily Mail newspaper has reported.
Two of the thieves worked for BMW with a third gang member also involved in the operation, German prosecutors said.
The scam involved producing fake orders for parts from different areas of the factory before ordering quality control checks, reporting the goods as faulty and smuggling them out of the factory.
The BMW parts were then sold in internet auctions or supplied to private customers or workshops that were in on the deal.
German police discovered a car seats, spare parts and BMW car badges during raids on the suspected thieves.
